In this edition of Random.access Retrospectives, we'll be diving into an ocean of stars: the Star Ocean series! Unlike many RPGs of its time (and even today), Star Ocean bases itself in the far future, bearing many intergalactic voyages for the games' protagonists. The plots are very loosely intertwined (with the exception of one), making it almost technically a series of sequels. It is a very unique series that focused on real-time battles, exploration of foreign new worlds, and... cooking?! Huh? Say what? Let's take a look at each entry in the Star Ocean series to see what made it so awesome.
