So there's this "local" asian market I like to visit from time to time, and I can't resist getting something each time I go. Part of the reason I visit time to time instead of frequently. Inside is a wonderland of treats and goodies from Japan, China, and other "oriental" countries. On today's adventures, I came close to getting a dense green tea matcha cake or a matcha cream-filled bun, but instead I settled on a bag of Chinese Lay's and a freshly made milk bubble tea (that was incredible, if I'm honest).
I saw a good variety of flavors we don't typically see, most of which can be found on the Chinese Lay's website but with only a few bucks in my pocket due to this being an on-the-whim trip, I could only get one and settled on Lime.
A chip's a crisp the world over, crunchy fried potato slice goodness. These chips were not that greasy, and not overly salty, having a nice balance that enables you to enjoy the potato's taste as well as the lime flavoring. And yes, it is a nice hint of lime. The taste didn't really diminish much with time as consumption was had, and I think I taste a little bit of onion powder in the seasoning as well. A little sweet, a little bit of salt; a very nice treat indeed.
Being an import, it's a fair bit pricier than the boring crap at the supermarket, but honestly, what's a few more cents when it comes to living life, eh?
